But not what it means.
You tell him to pray to Allah,
But not to know what he is saying.
You tell him to read the Qur’an,
But not to learn its meaning.
You tell him to follow The Path,
But not give him the sight to see it.
You tell him to listen to the Mufti,
But not one who speaks his language.
You tell him to learn about Islam,
But not to understand it.
You tell him to follow the Prophet (pbuh),
But not to know his life.
You tell him to seek knowledge,
But not with a mind of clarity
You tell him to work for his family,
But not to bother about the world.
You tell him to be a man,
But not how a man should be.
You tell him that he is part of the Ummah,
But not that he must be a blessing to all.
You tell him to become responsible,
But not be fully aware.
You tell him the plight of his people,
But not the guidance of how to act.
You tell him to be a proactive Muslim,
But not that he must never compromise his people.
You tell him to seek justice,
But not to know what makes clarity and peace.
You tell him to be Islam,
But not why there are so many “types.”
And then you’re surprised your son is a extremist?
