The reality of the Muslims is, they are willingly living in a Western democracy – and those calling for Sharia rules in distant lands are continuing to live by democracy in the West, their words do not match their deeds.
(Yusuf) Can you also clarify the final paragraph in this section. What words do not match up to their deeds?
(Yamin) As for the words not matching the deeds, is because if they were serious about Sharia Laws, they would migrate to the Muslim world which is also demanded by their adoption of only Muslim countries suitable for the Caliphate. I elaborated on this later in the article and I quote –
“If HT members are so eager to implement Sharia laws, they should have all migrated to Afghanistan when the Taliban seized power in the early years. The argument that they did not want to implement Islam fully is a poor excuse, they did what was in their ability, if you wanted to go the extra mile, and then logically you should have migrated there and offered full support to achieve that. At least you would have had some experience. The truth is nobody wanted to trade for the streets of London, Sydney, New York, Toronto, for the muddy streets of Kabul!”
(Yusuf) I don’t see how these diversions add anything to the discussion, other than to personalise matters. Your argument about Afghanistan has been tackled an HT delegation was sent there to enquire about their position, this was to determine whether the obligation to establish Islam through the institution of the khilafah had been met. May Allah reward the Taliban in Afghanistan for what they did for the sake of Allah. But there is a difference between what is in their ability and establishing the khilafah, Allah is the ultimate judge for the effort that we exhaust as well as extenuating circumstances and what is within our ability, therefore this not about what the Taliban did or did not do, but the whether the obligation was fulfilled.
(Yamin) These are not personalize matters, my original point of contention was HTB should migrate to the Muslim world (Afghanistan was an example) for the following reasons –
- a) You have declared that you intend to bring about the Khilafah in the Muslim world.
- b) Both of us concur, this makes practical sense as you work amongst Muslims.
My contention is - your presence (HTB activists) in the West is primarily for material benefit. If you were keen on implementing the Sharia you would all migrate to the Muslim world especially places like Afghanistan, where there is a call for the implementation of Sharia rules.
